green snakes, any info?

just got our 1st snake, a lil rough green snake...any one else had one of these guys? we did some research and asked q's at the store, were just wondering if anyone had any experience with these guys. thanks

I had one a few years ago. They are not constictors, they over power their food and swallow it. I fed mine crickets. They also love to burrow.

at the pet shop they were all in the foliage, but this lil guy has been spending his time under a leaf on the ground....makes it hard to find the lil bugger....

They usually spend the vast majority of time in shrubs doing their best impersonation of a vine (when hunting they will often do a waving motion that resembles a vine moving in the wind). IME they need good ventilation and a lot of structure (lots of sticks, plants (pothos) etc). A daily mist is also much appreciated. They only time I would see them hiding under the substrate would be during the week before a shed.

This month's issue of Reptiles magazine has an article devoted to their captive care. It's a good article and you might consider picking up a copy.
