green mantid

So my buddy had this mantis in a froster container and it looks like a gravid female. Its the only mantis species in canada and is just known to me as a common green mantid. Anyway if anyone knows how I could possibly get it to lay its eggsac, other than give it a laying site, I would appreciate the info.

Here's some pics of the mantid. Notice the swollen abdomen and puzzled look on the creatures face.

Looks like Mantis religiosa, to me. If it's a mature female, even if she is not gravid, she will lay infertile ooths. :) It's all a matter of finding a male to make sure she lays fertile ones.:D My Pseudoharpax virescen laid two infertile ooths in her lifetime-- both up in the topmost corners of her enclosure.

It was outside but I have no idea if it would have been mated already.
