Well, those didn't hibernate last winter because when I got them they were very weak and excausted so I even had to feed them by force untill thay started to eat on their own. However, when they restored it was already like middle of the winter so I didn't put them to sleep. This year I will put them to cool and quiet place for 4 - 5 months.
i think that the hibernating will only really be needed to trigger egg production, but better keeping them in the same conditions you found them in. what is that woood chip in the tank
Wood is beech. I like it because it's not too small by pieces and snakes can't swallow any. I use it for some of my bark scorpions as well.
As for hibernation - I think it's important and nesccery as here in Lithuania temperatures get below - 10'C so it's not natural for them to stay "on-line" all year. Not only for reproductuvity but for health as well.
