I’m very interested in raising hoppers as an alternative feeder. I wanted to ask around as to what may be the best species to raise for it; I have some criteria I’d like them to meet.
Required criteria:
- Easy to breed
- Relatively hardy
- Legal
- Produce young/eggs most if not all year round
Preferred criteria (ie not required but it’d be great!):
- Flightless
- Does not require diapause or seasonal changes
- Brightly colored, like green or yellow
- Common/Easily accessible to acquire
I’m hoping I can breed these both to sell to fisherman but primarily exotic pet keepers looking for alternative foods for their pets. Thank you!
