My ex-husband dropped off Aslan tonight and he's all mine again! His coat is a horrendous mess and he's in dire need of a bath, but already he's settling in. Miranda is watching a cartoon while I make dinner with her arm draped around the dog who is laying as close as he can get to her.

Congratulations! I'd go beserk if someone had my dog and wouldn't give it back.

Immortal Sin had recommended "Filthy Animal" shampoo made by Kelco awhile back in another thread and I just got around to trying it and its awesome stuff. If coat and skin issues are present I'd also recommend looking into supplementing with wild salmon oil. It works wonders on a dogs coat even if the coat isn't in bad shape to begin with. Kids and dogs belong together( but always properly supervised). :)

As you can see, Aslan has always had a big place in his heart for Miranda. Here she is at one day old with her playmate and protector.

Congrats! ;) I'm sure my life would be sad without my dogs! What breed is Aslan? Looks like a Bouvier for me.

He is, indeed, a bouvier. His parents are international working and show champions. I thought about showing him but didn't think that an intact male in an urban neighborhood would be the greatest idea I'd ever had.

Oh, and tonight we had an unpleasant incident in the hallway. We were turning the corner and a couple was walking toward us. When they saw the dog, he hit the wall and she started flailing about which made Aslan decide that I needed to be protected from the crazy people flailing in the hall. I had him under control in a few seconds, but that didn't stop the people from waving their arms and yelling. Do you see the cycle here?

I finally got everything under control but I'm worried now that it'll be trouble for us. Aslan was fine until the flailing and shouting began and he's not an aggressive dog. I've taken him to crowded street fairs, etc., and he likes pretty much everyone.

Yeesh! Let's hope this doesn't bite me in the ***.

Hi,

You are lucky that nothing serious happened, 'cause If they wanna go... they will go.

I have a bouv girl here, her name is Zsazsi :D
She is the tamest dog I've ever seen, and very curious. I'll try to find a male for her this spring, but it's hard because they are quite rare here.

PS: The lil' lady is very cute too, and she has a really reliable babysitter I'm sure. ;)
