Two curly hairs got them both in the last two days . Is this deli cup too small?
I got three but a seemani had a cyst looking thing so I returned it. :(

I Just picked up a new T today, and it's a Thrixopelma cyaneolum .5” sling $80 . Car battery died and my mom took the red car I usually drive.🫤
so I had to walk 1.4 miles or so in high humidity I was exhausted . Despite being only 79°. I have Not kept a Thrixopelma before any tips?

Keep like most NW terrestrials.

I'm jealous 😕

Very nice T and kind of rare to find.
Yeah I was in disbelief they had them available I expected common species. It was just they don’t keep any slings in the store he said customers want the larger ones.

Awesome Ts. How many you have now and what's your favorite?

I keep 30 with a handful of old worlds((I prefer them over my new worlds ironically)). I love all my Ts. Favorite T is my H. Gigas but personality is my G. Anthracina. I'm sure this will change over time with new interests.

So yeah. What's yours man? Glad you are loving the hobby.

How long have you been in it? You always liked Ts?

I've always loved them and I got into the hobby around march. Been going strong with rocking 30 slings/Juvis.

The cup is a bit small, but they should be fine imo. As long as they have enough room to molt, you should be good. But when they molt, it would be better to give them a little more room to explore. I recently acquired a curly hair and that thing digs like an excavator. I was pleasantly surprised by this sp.

Yeah I’d say the smaller ones are one molt from a next size up container's. The.5” one I nearly put in a deli cup like it came housed in Surrounded the vial it came in. I had a hundred plus sling /juvy containers but they vanished.. . So I assume they were tossed. 🫠 so I’ve been saving up and buying new containers. I’m at 3% of those old amounts … or less . These other containers are more suitable.? For half-inch sling. IMG_1173.jpeg IMG_1172.jpeg

Ime 1/2" sling will do just fine in any of those containers provided they have enough sub to burrow in. Just keep the layout simple to monitor them. I've started quick growers in even larger at 1/2" and they didn't have issues.

That’s good because I don’t have any more medium condiment cups this size. The sling still hasn’t settled down. I was gonna wait a week to feed it, but I’m really feed it sooner than that. Do you buy deli cups somewhere?

The cups you have are just a tad larger than a 3x3 cube that many use

I just go to the dollar store for cheap containers. I only use deli cups for arboreal/fossorial (the 32oz ones) the 16oz are great for terrestrial. But you can really use anything comparable in size. Save your recyclables! Lol 1000005093.jpg

Yes, exactly. All those containers are good until the final enclosure. I only use the small dram vials for tiny slings, then the condiment cups for 1/4" until they hit an 1" then move them into something larger like a 4x4 or a tad bigger (not an exact science) when I'm making my own. I use the 6qt sterilite shoe boxes for juvies 2.5"+.

Alot of this is species dependent too. But T Albos are great eaters from what I'm seeing, so they shouldn't have an issue catching prey. If they do, just handicap the crickets and place them near the burrow
