Hey I have a question.
What's the growth rate of the T.blondi tarantula?
What's the growth rate of the T.blondi tarantula?
Okay. Like if they're fed a decent bet do they grow quicker?Theraposa species tend to be fast growers, but of course a lot of it will depend on the environment (temperatures, feeding schedule, etc.)
What's the proper temperature for the goliath bird eating tarantula?Yes and no I suppose. If they're fed a lot and kept at a high temperature ( what some call power feeding), then yes their metabolism will increase and their growth will speed up. If they're fed a lot and kept at a cooler temperature, they might eat their fill and then spend a longer time in premolt as their new exoskeleton forms.
I happened to have raised two Theraphosa blondi males to maturity. When fed regularly and kept warm at about 80 degrees F, give or take a few degrees, they molted about once every 3 months or so until they reached a larger size (about 3 inches legspan), then their molt cycle slowed down to half molting once every 6 months. These are approximate timings but both of my male T. blondi took about 2 years to mature from a 1.5 inch spiderling.Hey I have a question.

Do growth patterns vary from male to female tarantulas with the goliath bird eaters?I happened to have raised two Theraphosa blondi males to maturity. You can expect molts at 1 .5 month apart if fed well upto 3"legspan.then normally every 3-months for 2 molts then 3 molts in a year until 6.5 dls this was patterb for my female who became sexually mature (8th molt)7.5" at 24-26 months from 1.5" sling.Hey I have a question.

That has never been my experience. Sometimes males grow faster, just as often (if not more) females grow faster. I have actually seen more females sprinting to the juvie stage than males. With every sac I produce, I always keep a handful to raise....I always keep the 2 fastest growers, and I always keep the runtiest (slowest growing) one or two. More often than not, these slow growing runts end up my mature males eventually. I've found it much less common for those runts to be females. For tarantulas in general, males tend to grow more quickly and mature faster.
