One of my old neighbors had a chihuahua that got nabbed by a hawk off of their back porch while they were eating outside. They said it flew up a few hundred feet and dropped it into the street! Things always go crazy when the "natural" world comes into the lives and concerns of us humans. But for an eagle to kill a deer?! Now thats insanity. What would entice a bird to go for a deer is beyond me. I would think the size of the prey compared to the predator is way out of whack. That would be like a scorpion hunting down a full grown rat.

Not meaning to be a wet burnoose but fawns are commonly on eagle's menus throughout the world. The eagle probably lost it's Pocket Guide to Edible Mammals.

Amazing predators, but if you're referring to the video I think you are, the toddler thing was a hoax.

Mongolians use eagles to hunt wolves. The eagles are also smart enough to knock goats off cliffs. Kinda makes you believe the stories about Haast's eagles eating people.
