I know it is dangerous to use a water bowl on a sling because of flooding the book lungs, but how do you give water to slings that dont like to be misted? I was thinking perhaps since i use a syringe and needle to water slings through air holes, i could maybe put some fresh water into the bodies of the crickets i kill to feed the slings that dont like to be misted. Would that give them extra hydration?

I use a small straw and drip some water down the side of the vial. I have also used a small paint brush to "paint" the water on the side. This seems to work pretty well.

does anybody mist the sides of the tank or vial anymore?, i do this once or twice a month and its a sure bet when i do this all the T's will drink from the sides especially before and after molts.

Just run water down the side of your enclosure, the sling doesn't need you to give it water directly, it gets it from the moist substrate......super saturation of the cricket with a needle is not necessary(although it might be fun to watch). {D j/k

that's what i normally do... but holy cow! recently i've had to mist every day or every other day... coco-fiber will go from "good" darkish brown to bone dry light brown in under 48 hours. i think i might have bored too many holes in my vials =P

I just keep the substate moist by dripping water into the vials onto the substrate, I don't worry too much about having water droplets present. My P. murinus slings are kept without substrate, so I just mist their webs once a week, but they are the only ones that get misted.

just keep the substrate damp. t's are good at extracting water from the substrate. they also get a little bit of water from their prey. :)

keeping the substrate damp will only encourage mites and mold growth.
