Last night I found one of my giganteas in very bad shape. He/she had just molted and for some reason that went very wrong. I took some pictures and I hope that someone here has an idea what went wrong. On the picture he/she was still alive but died shortly after

My Cherry red also molted last night but fortunately she is ok.

Hi Vincent,

Were there any crickets or roaches in the tank during the molt, it looks like it may have been munched at whilst it was in the process of molting? :?

that's really sad news to hear Vincent :( :( :(

was she bitten by some cricket orso ?
seems to have some damage on 2 spots :?
could be the cause she was disturbed during the molt.

*Edit* Dan, was 1 minute faster

UUUggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would have to agree with Lord Steven and Danread. The same thing was the demise of my beloved Dr. Evil. I had superworm beatles in the tank. The bastards ate a good sized hole in him before he got a chance to harden up.
I am really, really sorry. :(
