On lllreptile.com if you go to their giant black millipede listing, they say they may no longer be imported soon, and to get them while you can (nice sales pitch).

I have never heard of this anywhere but on that site. Is this true? If so, whats the reasoning?

If you noticed, they also quadrupled their previous price. I think they are/were just feeding the previous hype and hysteria.

because of infestations in some areas, Pedes and Mantids can no longer be legally imported...

i know there's a thread announcing it somewhere...

There have been no infestations of pet mantids or millipedes anywhere.
On the other hand there is a well documented infestation of tarantulas in FL.
