I just bought one at an exotic pet expo. Are crickets the best for them to eat? Are taller enclosures best? Also when you can possible tell the sex?

I have a spider already and have some mealworms right now. So was wondering if crickets were best though. I also know they like trees so thought maybe taller was best.
Anyway I will read the other post and shouldn't have bothered with my question.

Jumping Spiders and Tarantulas are extremely different in terms of husbandry. Only going off your previous posts to suggest you don’t have any other Tarantulas.

What have you got them in at the moment before you have an enclosure ready?

Curious, do you own tarantulas?

If not, please read A LOT or you will likely kill it.

The common name you gave is useless, see below.

a Morphotype- Could be the Giant Pink Toe or A variegata M1- likely the former

Avicularia Sp. Amazonica
see above, sp Amazonica was changed to second name above

Better figure out what you have before you put it in an enclosure that isn't suitable. You can post some pics on the tarantula ID forum for help with that.

As for feeders, mealworm, crickets, roaches - they'll all work as long as they're appropriately sized and the T can find them.

To answer one of the questions, yes its an Avicularia, it absolutely needs a higher than wide, arboreal enclosure,

I got one labelled giant pink toe a while ago...pretty sure it's an M1 from southern Guyana but I can't breed her

Send pics so we can ID
Here are a few pics. I have been speaking with someone from our local exotic pet store. They are going to help put together an enclosure for me and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. I'am not sure what the sex is yet. All they had written on the thing it was in was Giant Amazon pink toe that was it.

Nice looking specimen. If you can get pics of it's ventral side and post them in the epiandrous fusillae sexing forum we might be able to help with gender.

As for care, please read through the information linked in the "clicky" in @viper69 signature above. He's compiled great info to make sure you and the T are happy and healthy.
