Getting an orchid mantis

Okay so my old lady keeps asking to get a mantis specifically a orchid mantis but I have no idea how to care for a mantis and all its needs so if anyone can post some help that'll be greatly greatly appreciated

I really don't encourage you to get an orchid as a first mantid. If you want something exotic looking consider a ghost or dead leaf. The nymphs can be delicate, especially during molts. They need to be kept warm and humid while also staying well ventilated. Orchids also should be fed flying insects, so you would need a fruit fly culture for small nymphs, and larger bottle flies for adults. Mantids have pretty short life spans, start with something hardy and work your way up.There are mantid-specific forms that would be a more appropriate resource for you.

I have to advise hierodula sp they are my first mantids incrediblely hardy,massive and eat well
