My sister is giving me (well, selling at a very discounted price) one of her corn hatchlings. There were two boys from the clutch that I liked- both amel het anery het motley. I'm not sure which one she's bringing me. I told her to bring the one with the most white.

its either gonna be this one:

or this one:

The coloring has changed a bit since the photos were taken. I really like the first one, but love how red the second one is. So I'm letting her pick. She picked my other corn, and my ball python, and I'm very happy with both of those. She'll be over tomorrow, I think she'll bring it then. I'm excited about the new snakey!

Congrats, corn snakes make Excellent starter snakes and pets in general.

They are really easy to feed even though every now and then you may have that one you really have to work with to get it feeding.

However once you get it feeding it will eat from that point on.

Corn snakes are very addictive because they are so easy to care for so for now you may have one but by next year this time you have 3/4 lol.

Of course if you have any questions you can definitely ask us.

What size tank are you goig to be keeping it in?

Do you already have the tank set up with the following?

- UTH on one side.

- Two or more hides

- water dish

-substrate

I had a similar dilemma. I solved it by getting the lightest one and getting my son the darkest one.

i already have one corn snake, as well as a ball python and a king snake.
I keep them all in tubs, so much easier and cheaper than tanks. I'm going to be picking up the stuff I don't have tonight. I'm trying to decide between the 6 qt shoebox tub, or the 14 qt tub. The smaller one is probably better, since he's so tiny right now. i have my yearling in a 14 qt tub. I just need to get a tub and a water bowl, I have everything else.

My next corn is going to be a male butter motley, I have a female caramel motley. My sister recently bought the most gorgeous sunglow motley, and some of her clutchmates were butters. I wanted one so bad, but was super broke at the time. there's always next time, I guess.
oh, i made a mistake in my initial post. They aren't het motley. I forgot, the motley breeding didn't produce any viable eggs this year...

i have him! its the one in the first picture. my sister is really into sunglows, and I'm the opposite, I prefer the reverse okeetees, and the candy canes- lots of white. When this guy hatched, his back half looked almost like he was a snow. He's got more red in there now. So cute. Can't wait to see him grow up!
