Getting a new baby

I have been on a waiting list for a Congo African Grey for 9 months and I am finally going to be getting one. He is 3 weeks old right now and will be ready to come home the first part of November. His name is Einstein! Just had to share.

I've had my Grey for 12 yrs. now and she's the sweetest little bird.
While your grey is still with the breeder, I'd make sure you and the breeder are the only people handling her / him. I went a saw my baby every day. I also took her home while she still needed hand feeding twice a day. We bonded well and I love her very much. You'll have to give it lots of toys to keep it busy when your not with her. I use to play mine music when I left her alone. Remember it will be like raising a 5 yr. old and it'll want you,you and only you.

BTW: Buy as big a cage as you can afford. There about 500.00 for a good solid cage. I think mine is about 3ft. deep 4 ft. wide and 5 ft. tall. Don't use a round cage, your bird will go nuts.
