Cherokia Georgiana, Commonly known as wrinkled flat-backed millipede. A study done in 2022 where they conducted a molecular phylogenetic analysis and it confirmed that Cherokia includes only one species, C. Georgiana.

I found this guy today by almost stepping on it, im so happy i am always looking at the ground for things. This is a millipede we have here in Tennessee, it is commonly found in the eastern us. I dont normally find them in my drive way they are usually in soft rotting wood or under logs in leaf litter. They are pretty cool looking and are uv reactive like scorpions. When we go out mineral hunting at night we bring our UV lights and we are always finding these guys walking around . When I go snake hunting is when we find them in logs or under wood. If you see a dead soft tree around here and you rip it open your sure to come across them. This one here is a softer color than some of the others you will find. I will collect some images for everyone who is interested next time I go out to show you the color morphs that are natural to this area, Some are very high orange or redish colors, and where talking bright glowing type color. This one is a light pink with black banding and is 1.5 in (3.8cm) long. They are detrivores and eat decaying matter, like soft and rotting wood, decaying leaf matter pretty much anything organic and play a pretty big part in the eco system here. I have never kept one but I read in captivitythey will eat cucumber and fruit just like the rest of them so they would probably be pretty easy to keep. I just happened to come across this guy and wanted to share it to the forum here are some images of the little guy.
