Acanthophis praelongus "Daly River", don't put much stake in the species name, the entire genus like many of the Aussie elapids is in need of major revision. DSC_0032.JPG DSC_0041 (2).JPG DSC_0140 (3).JPG

Acanthophis antarcticus "Dajarra" hopefully making me some babies. again, ignore the species name. Localities are more important. DSC_0019 (1).JPG

Awesome! I am the Acanthophis guy here. Currently have A.hawkei from Northern Floodplains and A.antarcticus from Sydney. I have kept the Dajarra species and A.laevis from PNG before.

I just keep them in rack systems. Nothing fancy. Should I get hands on a pilbara death adder I'll consider a display animal but then, they are not easy to keep alive unless on a diet of reptiles and amphibians...

I can kill for one of these. Could never find any in Europe! Best looking Death Adder by far. The things that come out of Pilbara region, eh!
Not easy to find down under either. I picked up a pair recently and may be getting a third female.

Shh not so loud, the taxonomic vandal Raymond Hoser might decide to take an interest in them once he is done messing up north American Crotalus.

You are way too late on that. He has a paper on this subject that was published in his journal years ago.

Hoser is such a joke that not even he takes himself seriously.

Entomology has its own vandal as well in the form of Dewanand Makhan, so the herp community is not alone.
