I really want to have a female T. But I dont want to buy one thats 1 year old. Is it possible to know the gender of a brachypelma smithi thats 2,5 inches big?
I see, totally get that; I get all wonky when people want to describe in meters. But actually yes a T the size you describe could be sexed, however, it's a bit more dubious. I think if it's someone you trust that sexed the molt with a microscope, you should be fine.Hi. Thank you for replybut i made a mistake. The B smithi is 1 inch. Sorry but i live in Belgium and we work with meters and not whit inch and i miscalculated :s.
Thanks! I was just about to ask how small of a T can be sexed from a molt as my 1"-1.5" G.pulchra just molted.I see, totally get that; I get all wonky when people want to describe in meters. i just found out there is a section on arachnoboards for sexingI'm going to buy a tarantula but i really really want a female so i want to practice for sexing the T. Can some people post some pictures of molts or from the underside of a T. When you have pictures of younger tarantulas its better because i'm going to buy one from 1 inch. (Sorry but my engliscj is very bad :s)
+1 to this, I just got 6 a.versicolor slings in the mail a few weeks ago and them plus the unsexed one I already have makes seven, so I've got to have a female in there. The best way to ensure getting a female sling is to get several. Most dealers won't, or can't sex slings and juveniles, so I usually get a minimum of 3 slings of a species, preferrably 5 or 10.
