So, one of my crested gecko females is sneaky! I never saw her mate with the male that she lives with, and I never saw eggs. Today, though, when I opened the cage to feed the pair, a baby ran up the side of the tank!! Knowing that cresteds lay eggs in pairs, I searched the tank for another baby...and found it!

Now I have two little surprise crested geckos! I guess I'll be checking on my pairs more thoroughly now. lol

The parents are the yellow dalmation female that I got from Rob (gecko_keeper) and the HUGE red male that I got from Frank (TFrank) a while back. Both babies are very red!

The first one that I found is almost solid red. Very muted flame pattern on the back, but that's it.

The other gecko is red with a cream-colored flame pattern. It has a slight injury on its head - momma probably bit him. She's a pig and might've thought he was food, since I had no idea that the babies were in there. He seems perky and healthy, though, so I am not too worried.

Lucky you found them when you did! I have a friend that had this happen and the male ate one of the babies. :(

Congrats on the two new little ones!

That's awesome Katy! I've had this happen to me at least once a year...always a great surprise! I recently had this happen with a Uroplatus, couldn't ask for more really....

Enjoy the new kid!
