Gecarcinus quadratus - a quick question

I've been considering getting one Gecarcinus quadratus ("Halloween" crab) for a while now, and I've read through the basic care. Seems like something I could definately manage. However, I've noticed that quality care sheets are sortof lacking, and the ones out there don't specify if their pool should be freshwater, brackish, or saltwater. Could someone please tell me which is appropriate for this species, or are they like hermit crabs and require both a fresh and brackish/SW pool? I did a search on this site but didn't turn up much re: fresh or salt water.

Freshwater, or slightly brackish (to around SG 1.005) would be fine. A fairly large water area, around 6 inches or so deep, heated to 25c, and filtered is recommended. They also need a fairly large land area, with at least 6 inches of substrate, they're care is the same as Cardisoma species, Ive posted some information on keeping them in this thread.

Thank you! I elected not to get any - at least not at this time, but I will save than info for the future as I will most definately be getting some when I have fewer fishtanks to worry about.
