Below are some pics I took with my new Panasonic Lumix Dz28 camera. First one is my first attempt on an HDR (High Dynamic Range) pic. Second one is what it was originally right after HDR processing (too much saturation in my opinion <-- usually what happens with HDR pics). The rest are normal pics, one of which were the original before HDR processing.

Please let me know what you think. I am still experimenting and greatly appreciate any comment. Thanks.

HDR, cut down on saturation

I am not sure what you are trying to do here. Do you think the "hdr" image you have attempted looks better somehow or are you just tinkering around for fun?
To me neither one of the images looks all that natural or good for that matter. Gbb is a tough species to photograph imo.

I'll post my best shot of a gbb if its ok with you.

Yeah, I'm not getting what your trying to do either. I like your normal pics better.

HDR is generally used to bring out shadow detail or decrease the contrast in your image. Example, a city on a bright day with lots of harsh shadows that you want to bring out. I'm not really a big fan of HDR. Although some photos do look OK, most look fake and overprocessed. If you want to bring up the shadows, add more light!

Most hdr pictures look fake and have a painted look on purpose. It's considered an artistic touch to photographs. Some look really bad, but some are really awesome.
The intent of the finished product was never really to make it look real but more trying to draw attention too over accented features in the photo.
In the case of a tarantula photo, hdr editing makes the tarantula look ridiculous.

LOL! I was just tinkering around. I know GBB was hard to photograph, that's why I try to test the settings with that one. :D

@Talkenlate04: please post your pics, and the settings for the pics as well - like how much zoom/aperture/shutter/ISO. Thanks. :D

I like the HDR, the blue really pop. Compared to the HDR, the original looks flat. High dynamic rendering can work well with some images and some not so well. Personally, I like to apply it on certain areas of an image.

I guess it works out fine if you wanted the blue to "pop" so much it did not look natural.
I don't know much more about hdr but it is fun to play with. :)
