Garter Snake Morphs and Species - Share Photos please !!

So, wasting a whole day watching snakebytes.tv broadened my horizons and views on snakes I previously thought were "garbage" snakes. I actually have an appreciation for many more things. (If it didn't seem impossible, as I do like all reptiles regardless. I just like them more now. lol) But I'm interested if available varieties go beyond the checkered garter snake. So please, share some pictures of your stunning, or even typical garter snakes. Also, what has to be the largest garter you have ever owned/encountered?
Can I also get tips on finding garter snakes in the wild? I know we have some around here, it's just unfortunate they're roadkill by the time I discover them... :(

I find garter snakes in a variety of habitats. Forest, meadow, wetland, backyards, you name it. The best piece of advice I can give when it comes to spotting snakes is take things slowly. Really take in your surroundings. Listen for rustling noises in leaf litter and other detritus. Zero in on movement. Look underneath promising ground cover (logs, bark, rocks, etc). Like I said, however, the real key is to take your time. Good luck. You live in a great state for herping.

Love garters, wish I could have a couple of the morphs. I have been eyeballing scott's site for quite some time. Even with all the morphs out there though my favorite still is a good Ca. red-sided garter.
