Huh, that's odd, the article says the kid was left with "two puncture wounds" on his hand after being bitten by the python. It was my understanding that pythons had rows of sharp backwards pointing teeth not two larger ones up front.

There just ain't no cure for dumb. If the culprits are caught, they should be put on display at the local zoo's python enclosure, clad only in skivvies made of expired feeders.

2 puncture wounds does sound a bit questionable. Somewhere the story seems to have taken a sensationalist turn. (Or the kid was somehow lucky enough to only have 2 teeth puncture his hand while the 2nd row of teeth on the palate and the teeth along the upper jaw missed).

Now the important part......what sort of a weak gang uses snakes as a weapon. I mean violence is typically not appropriate, but what happened to the good old days when gangsters would use real weapons.....bats, chains, knives, guns, etc....snakes? Imagine how different 1992 would have been if snakes were the weapon of choice........Sublime and Ice Cube would have had very different songs.

And we wonder why all of these bans are going on now..I think parent should second think the maturity level of there kids befor they let them even own something with any possible hostile behaviour.

How do you know that had anything to do with this report? No where did they say what ages the "gangsta's" were.
This was very sensationalised, it shouldn't even be news. I would rather be bitten by an 18 foot python than stabbed by anything more than a .5 inch blade. But a stabbing probably wouldn't be a media report. If the gang had stapled him with a regular office stapler it wouldn't make the news, why should a small nonvenomous snake bite make the news?

It really shouldn't be in the whole scheme of things Thomas, but it does play on the general public's irrational fear of snakes. How Sensational! Gang attacks with Python! Way over done, but that would be terrifying to your average goober that doesn't know a Ball from a diamondback. Ignorance and sensationalism, but it is cruel to use animals to mess with people. For the animals sake too! But yeah, drama drama, and I am sure the European Union is going to propose more restrictions now that they are "assault weapons" Who needs AK's when you're packing a Rock Python! Jk. A.k.'s would win that battle. Shame that this stupidity could affect thousands of nice thoughtful hobbyist though.

Hah, yea. I guess the gang was trying to make a name for themselves, like the "Tunnel Snakes" or "Devils Serpents". I dunno, but i would say b/c firearms are strictly controlled in England they couldn't get anything else. Or maybe they were to pansy to stab the guy so they had their "weapon" do it lol.

Those G's are hardcore! Instead of carrying 9's and AK's , these homeboys whip out snakes! Thats where its at. This is going to be the new revolution in gang warfare. Instead of blasting someone up with an uzzie during a drive-by, just roll down the window and chuck a cobra at them!

Lol, but seriously though, what kind of a pathetic gang has to use pythons as weapons?

Yep. Since when did teenagers qualify as toddlers?
Yeah I noticed that when I opened the link just a little while ago. Were they too lazy to use another, flesh picture of the snake in question and took one from another attack instead?

Just in case the story itself wasn't sensational enough, the editors squeezed in a photo of a baby-eating python! BAM! BAM! That just happened!
