So I scored a 8"bl galap, put a deposit down today and will get it shipped next week.

From the pics this appears to be the commonly available peruvian dark morph according to this thread
http://arachnoboards.com/threads/the-south-american-centipede-conundrum.299907/

I trust the seller and Im not concerned if it turns out to be something else. A big, dark SA giant is the last pede on my list.
Is there any new info on taxonomy of these? Pics of the specimen below.

I consider all hobby species to be unknown. In my opinion they should be labeled with quotes around them. This one is what hobbyists call galapagoensis.

In your case it sounds like taxonomy doesnt matter. You got a big pede.

I did get a big dark pede but i still enjoy taxonomical differences and attempting to classify.
Knowing that most of these hobby pedes are unknown, it’s still cool to explain to my class students and the attempt to look at the differences and then record them.

The unknown part is pretty fun.
