My girlfriend has a friend with a lot of gerbils. Can my Rosea eat their youngs?

I don't see why not, they're not much different from rats or mice! Of course, you might want to check with Richard Gere first!=D

I would never feed something like that to any of my T's as I think it is just too risky. If they were gerbil pinkies, I'd think differently. I have no trouble feeding pinkies and fuzzies to my T's, but I would never feed something to them that could seriously injure them. Rodents have TEETH and they will fight. Why risk the health of your T for a possible thrill? (I'm not saying YOU would do it for the thrill factor, but there are those who would). How thrilled will you be when your valuable T is injured so badly it dies? That's just craziness, if you ask me. :p

I was assuming he meant they were GERBIL pinkies or fuzzies. I would not suggest feeding ANYTHING with teeth to Ts!!

I was talking about the newborn baby gerbils -without eyes or teeth or laserkanons or anything that could harm my charming little T. :}

I read an article once suggesting that gerbils were a good choice to rear as feeders because, being desert animals, they urinate less and their poop is drier (to conserve water), so they stink less than mice or rats.

Oh, that's good then. I don't see why not, unless your friend keeps them on cedar chips or something like that.

I wasn't accusing YOU of doing it for kicks. I was just thinking there are guys who do stuff like that so I went off in a tangent. ;)

=DSee Wysi, he was gonna feed the ones WITHOUT the laser cannons!=D

I kinda like that less-pee, less-poop thing, that's why I got rid of everything but my Ts. I got tired of cleaning up POOP . I wonder.... gerbils could be a good alternative. Are there any rodents that don't pee OR poop?:? =D

I don' buy the less pee less poop thing. I used to have gerbils as a teen...until my mother made me get rid of them. They are REALLY smelly and they pee and poop everywhere. :p

There is always the roach option though! ;)

Actually, I'm going to be trying lobster roaches very soon.
My only real concern there is how I'm going to get myself to
TOUCH those things! I can touch crickets (though that can be gross when they relieve themselves on me), but roaches are supposed to be really NASTY! I managed to handle a Madagascar Hisser once, but they don't LOOK like roaches to me so I could get past that "prejudice" but Lobster roaches DO look like roaches. I'll you know how it goes when I do it. I'm hoping my T's will really love them and I hear they are less smelly than crickets. :)

Oh please, let me know! I've kinda been tossing that idea around!

I went out and bought three hissers to handle so I could get used to them, now I kinda like the little buggers. Cockroaches have always had that stigma of being "dirty" and I LOATHE them. When I lived in Hawaii, we had to put every food item in Tupperware. Even postage stamps! And over there, they are big enough to saddle and ride!! Even the geckos running around loose in our condo wouldn't eat some of the bigger ones! Ewwwwww, yuck!

I agree. I used to keep gerbils and they really smelled. In the end it had to live outside because my Mum wouldn't have it in the house. Certainly smellier than the hamsters I used to have.

I like to feed my T's locusts from time to time. I think it is a nice change for them and there also have the benefit of being easier to see in the tank than a brown cricket.:)

Compared to a reptile or invertebrate, sure, but compared to rats and mice?
