Here's my first and one and only tarantula Isis the Grammostola aureostriata. She's only about a month old and has a ton of growing left to do.

1 month old?? Mine looked pink up until their 3rd or 4th molt (2 molts in my care) and it took much longer than 1 month to show color like yours is.

Do you know for sure that yours is 1 month old? Can you get a shot from above?
Or is it just a fast grower? If so, you're lucky, mine grow very slow.

Anyway, beautiful little baby you've got there :)

1 month old? Are you sure? I dont remember mine anything remotely resembling adult colouring until it was around 5 months old and had undergone about 4 moults.

Actually those pictures were about taken about two weeks ago. She's grown another 2 centimeters from that time. And when I got her she was about 1.3 inches long in legspan. I got her from Krazy 8s Invertebrates at the Tucson Reptile Show on September 24th. She had just molted when I bought her and she wasn't very large at all. Maybe she was 2-3 months when I bought her but I would have thought she'd grow larger than that in that time. And the reason for fast growth maybe that my room is at a steady 80 degrees all day long (since I live in Phoenix it doesn't bother me) and that's causing her metabolism to speed up. You think I should relocate her into a cooler room?

Here's a picture of her on the day I got her. I should take a few more of her on my hand but lately she seems skittish.

Yeah I was saving that name for something very beautiful. I thought it matched right when I got her.

By the way, most of my animals are named after egyptian gods or goddesses.

That's either 1) a male, 2) being powerfed (though it doesnt look like it, or 3) well...just a super fast growing Chaco.

Mine is well over 6-8 months old, and its barely reach 1".

Dang that would suck if she turned out to be a he. Oh well, we'll see in a few months. I'm not exactly sure how old it was when I got it. At 1.3 inches on september 24th would mean that it was how old?
