G. aureostriata mating (video)

Okay so today Jamie and me mated the G. aureostriata pair we have. I received the male (and another female that was mated with the male already) from Gary ( Atrax ) this morning along with a beautiful close to 3" T. gigas! The mating went very smooth and there was no drumming whatsoever before he approached her, they just went right at it. It took him about 2 minutes to do both insertions ( I think ). I tried again a minute or so after and tested the female when the male was about 1" in front of her and found out she didn't wanna do "it" again and slapped the tweezers, so I took him out for good. I have a video and a few pictures of the male, which will be put up whenever I can find a free host (anyone know one??). If anyone wants to see the video, let me know and I will email it to you. Oh yea and Jamie did all the camera work, except for the pictures.

Chacos are one of my favorites, and a species I hope to breed, though if I wait for mine to get to breeding age, I will be pretty damn old! They grow sooooooo slooooooow. But I think they are really great, I hope you have alot of little Chacos. My young female Chaco is so calm, and so beautiful, and is about 3-3 1/2".

Hmmm...weird...on my computer they came up a bit blurrier than they were before I uploaded them!

The female is 6" and the male is 7", very leggy guy he is!

On a side note, was the T. gigas easy to relocate form the deli-cup? I had fun chasing that one all over the bug room trying to pack it. LOL

Nope the male made it through just fine. After he was done I pushed him away from her and that was the end of it. I tried again the day after (read thread "G. aureostriata mating attempt #2"), but she didn't want anything to do with him, she was ready to eat his guts! I'm sure there were two fulf insertions so now I'm gonna wait for him to make another sperm web and try again after.

Yea the phone rings there (it was at my girlfriends house) a lot b/c a lot of people call for her sister and usually nobody answers it, but there were so many calls before we started the video that Jamie was just getting sick of it haha!

Again, if anyone knows how to compress this to less than 11.9MB, let me know...thanks!
