We have a small (about an inch and three quarters) G aureo and in the last week its' behavior has been very strange. When it moves it is acting "spastic" with very fast leg movements but not intentional as one would think. It is eating well, always has clean water (filtered) and has not been exposed to pesticides or anything of the sort. I'm not worried about our little "Bling" just a bit curious to see if anyone else has had the same experience with any of their T's not neccessarily exclusive to the Chacos. Any input would be appreciated.

Spastic uncontrolled leg movements don't sound good at all. :( Do a search on "dyskinetic syndrome," there are videos of it, see if that resembles what your T is doing.

That's not really a very complete description of the behavior so it's kind of hard to evaluate. When do you see these movements? Does it have a hard time walking from place to place? Have you had it long enough that you have noticed a change in its behavior or did it always do that?

please give us detail as to what you are housing this tarantula in, the temps, what type of soil, how wet or dry (should be dry), what type of feeders are you feeding it, etc.

if we can find something wrong with the setup, then maybe we can give you a better answer...

but i must agree with Aurelia.. spastic leg movements do not sound good at all. well, at least from what i've seen anyways...
