Yes indeed...I used to surf a lot when I was a teenager but one day this guy was surf fishing about a hundred yards from me and he pulled a five foot long SHARK out of the surf line ....I paddled over out of curiosity to see what he had and when I came out of the water there was this malignant looking thing with a mouth full of nasty looking teeth...I think it was a sand shark...God this thing was ugly and mean looking.I looked at it flopping around and I thought..."Huh...wouldja look at that..." I mused on this for a couple of days and then I started to develop a shark phobia..I mean it...a real phobia I still have.I stopped surfing and to this day I am scared @#!-less of sharks...I like to look at them on TV or in an aquarium but you could not drag me out into the water now for nothing...<shudder>   :8o :8o

Dolphins Shmalphins.....

That may indeed be a doctored up photo but THERE are sharks out there and if you surf you ARE taking a chance of having a run in with one. That girl in Hawaii that got her arm chomped off about a couple of months ago is a prime example. After seeing that shark that was pulled out of the surf line years ago when I was out there no more than a hundred yards away freaked me out for good. There are many nasty ways to die but I will take almost anything over being ripped to shreds out in the ocean by an unseen 15 foot long shark.I think that is the thing that spooked me the worst is that you will never see it coming if a shark hits you....one second you are fine and then the next moment you are bit in half with your guts and blood flooding the water a deep red all around you....yikes...

After further deliberation, my husband and I are inconclusive as to wheather or not that is a dolphin or a shark, howver, one thing we are certain of is that, that surfer crapped his trunks;P
