Lol that's what we always called them and yes they don't play nice and will charge to the water and swim off to get away from you they are very fast swimmers

i just did a search on florida we had alligator lizards too we just called them skins they are what i used to catch as a kid thats why they reminded me of the "skinks"

Yeah, my little guy is a nasty little bugger! Hissed and tried to bite my Mom when she checked on him/her. I have it in a cage with a male fence lizard of the same size. Been living together since last spring.

One of the coolest US lizards IMO, my fav is the Texas Alligator liz, easy to take care of, very safe to handle and very hardy:cool:.

Do you own one, Todd? I'm keeping several alli lizards right now and they're pretty awesome. They climb often and use their tails to hang. They can also stand up on their hind legs and look around/grab high branches.
