Frilled Dragons as pets?

After recently going to the usual local pet store to pick up some crickets for my tarantula, I have a pretty good relationship with everyone that works there and they took me to the back room to show me a new animal if I was interested.

They had two baby frilled dragons stored in the back room, since it's Petco, the manager had told me they obviously don't get these dragons in normally. They were special ordered for someone who went to their repto rally event a few weeks ago and said they haven't been able to reach him since. They have no room for the dragons outside so now they're stuck with two frilled dragons in the supply room that they can't show on display to the customers.

I remember as a kid I really wanted one of these, but nobody ever had them. I know basic information about these dragons, but was curious if anyone had personal experience or knows enough about them. I'm sure they're pretty high maintenance, but they seem like an interesting choice. What do you think?

Really? That's good to know, I was hoping to find a lizard that is mainly carnivorous and doesn't require all the leafy greens a bearded dragon would need. How big of a terrarium would be required for one?

They do need leafy greens though dont forget that as a varied diet is much better than just carnivorous. Also bigger is better and they need to climb to so you will want one that is tall to so i would say for a full grown adult a decent size cage would be 36 inches high, 24 x 24 inches is a good cage

I was reading a care sheet that said feed mealworms and crickets daily, but no leafy greens. That's very good to know though!

This is probably stereotypical, but when I was a kid, I REALLY wanted a frilled Dragon after finding out the infamous "Jurassic park Dinosaur" from the first movie was real. No store ever carried them and at the time, buying online wasn't really an option for me. xD

Would you buy one? The store that has them currently has two, and I really would only want one of them at the most.
