Fresh P. irminia Molt! Just arrived today..

Little bugger took me for a double-take

I've had experience with other insect molts however never a T and was shocked to find this little guy earlier spun a nice hammock and a few hours later was here...

and then he was out...

Truly amazing..

You think? I know they have a way of finding a way to squeeze out but that's the smallest thing I could make holes with

Before he settled down into the molt he was on the upper portion (Same hole size) and he was pokin legs through but his middle was much bigger than the hole(s) so he just kept wandering on.

I'll keep an eye on it and thanks for the suggestion

quickly hotglue some metel screen over the holes
that would help for now
or just put the cube in a plastic container and close the lid just incase

Yea I could do that.. I have another larger crafting cube that this one fits nicely into.. Might have to find some screening soon tho and glue it on..

thats too much work. I'd just stick a little piece of bark in them myself and wedge it in there.

I'll see what I can fashion up soon as he's hardening up after his molt on Tuesday and is starting to move around a bit more rebuilding his web and den..

My current is his brother/sister an A. metallica but I'll have to crop down the en-molt pic and use it I think

Yeah- My brain must be turned off tonight to think that was an irminia sling. Especially considering I have an adult irminia and a few slings of the exact same size
