My mystery moth was scrbbling around in its container today when i got home from clas...thanksfully its wings were still soft so it hadn't suffered any permenant defomration. Right now its hanging upside down under a pair of strong lightbuls so its wings will drie.....i have a reptile heat lamp i could put it under, would that be too strong a temperature?

I'd be careful with that, if they dry too fast they might be deformed. Any idea what species it is yet?

well he's still in the same place this morning, started to spread his wings some...

I'm thining its a male polyphemus, its the right color and clearly has an eyespot on each wing.

Edit: I just moved the sucker and and and it PEED all ovr my desk!! kindof milky greenish whitish fluid..is this suppsoed to be a scent deterrent or moth sperm or what?

Ah, okay. That possiblity had occured to me, there were alot more fluids on the moth and around the cocoon than I had expected as well. Hopefully when i get home he wont have flown into a corner in my room and hidden..hehe
