Right around now, some may have some molting gooties. Here's my freshly molted Poec., and...it's a girl!

They stay that color for life. Males change color after their ultimate molt. Other than that, the colors don't fade, they actually intensify as they grow.Originally posted by deifiler

You know, you're the second person that I've heard that from. Don't know the origin of that, considering the lack of info on this "new" species, but from the adult pics I've seen, these guys will not lose their coloration like some people seem to think. If anything, they're more purple as spiderlings and "blue-out" as adults.Originally posted by deifiler

The only thing that scares me about a spider like that is the value. When a sling I paid $20-$30 for turns up dead, oh well, that was dinner out with the wife. A sling like that up and dies and, crap, I'd be smacking myself in the head for weeks.
