Found this absolute beauty on the sidewalk. Missing a front leg, which is tough for beetles- I have a bess beetle also found with a missing leg. However bessie is a lot stronger and became energetic immediately. This june is weaker with every moment. If I'm not hand feeding her suger water, she is not moving or doing anything. I assume its her time. I gave her time in an enclosure with dirt, bark, paper towel, and moss, with a cut, skinned, washed strawberry. She ate a bit but of course i had to take it out after several hours. She did not eat much and has trouble walking/cant walk. She has not tried to fly once and lets me handle her without any fussing. Is there anything else i can/should do, or is she a goner? She is hardly moving at all and quite possibly might be passing as we speak. I have come to care for her a lot watching her little red tongue lap up sugar water and her stretch her legs in my hands.

On another note, if i cannot save her, how can i preserve her color and shine? I would love to preserve her if she doesnt make it. I dont want to do it in resin since you can mess it up a lot, and I dont want to pin her. I know you can use alcohol or sanitzer. Any advice?

Shes a beautiful beetle, I have always liked bugs, I recommend looking up natural food sources and habitat conditions, if she does pass away, its recommended to clean the innards out and put her on a silicone board, dont feel discouraged, keep bpard, copy her natural habit
