I came home from work this morning and saw the little guy resting by my front door. His skin was a pale white color, when I rehoused him into a critter keeper his skin turned a darker green color.

Noticed he is missing a his front left leg where his toes would be coming off of. I'm guessing a cat probably attacked it since we have a lot of strays in the area.

Can this species regrow limbs?

Ended up giving him a little pool, some sticks to climb on and he took an almost full grown B. dubia last night.

I don't have my camera on hand or else I would take a picture. I'll try to get a few when I get it back later.

Last I checked, only salamanders are capable of regenerating new limbs, or even parts of their head. They have made regeneration into an art form.

Frogs I don't think can grow back body parts.

Sorry it took so long for pictures. You can barely see the stump of his limb in picture 2.

The setup seems to be working... Large kritter keeper with eco earth substrate, criss-crossing sticks to climb on, fake plant for decoration and a little pool to hydrate in.

Hopefully now I can get a positive ID.

Ill pm you.

OP, Cuban female frogs get huge and will eat anything they can, including other frogs.

This little guy / girl guzzles down crickets like nothing. I put about 2 dozen in on friday and none were left on monday except the dead one under it in the picture.

A lady at work showed some interest in frogs for her son after I told her all about this one so I recommended her a pac-man frog which I hope to get one soon as well.

Very pretty frog and I don't think i'm going to release him back into the wild because of his injury and I know there are a lot of stray cats and other preds around here.

Also, Cubans, as you probably know or have guessed, are an introduced species(I'm assuming you're from Florida) and have been pests as they feed on the smaller frogs of the genus Hyla. So you're probably doing the ecosystem a favor as well. Good luck with your new pet!
