This is the second week I have found a dubia nymph on my floor. Both tim,es it was a young nymph and seemed extremely dehydrated and slow. I think they are escaping when transfering them to the cup I dust them with. Has anyone had dubia get out on them and is there any chance of them proliferating in my house.

No they wont live for long if they escape, they cant survive like american or german roaches can, thats why it was moving so slow, from little or no food and lack of moisture.

Thats what I wanted to hear. I knew this but really just wanted someone else to say it. The residents of my condo complex would most likely burn me at the stake if I created an outbreak.

I second "thats what i wanted to hear  ", I have not told my mom yet, and i think she would go insane if they got out and breed like American roaches (which in her opinion stand for every roach)

Last week I was trying to get a big dubia out for my T and it jumped behind the cage and fell on the floor. I looked all over for that thing but figured it was being the bookcase and there was no way of getting it out. I thought it would either die or just turn up later somewhere.
Yesterday my husband put on his boot and felt something squishy. My new kitten had been playing with an earplug earlier and he thought kitty had put it in his shoe. He drove all the way to his parents house squishing the thing all the way thinking it was just a bit of foam. When he finally took his boot off he shook it and nothing came out. He reached in and pulled out a big ol dubia roach. He said he screamed like a girl. lol!
If I hadn't got rid of all my roaches this weekend I would probably be in trouble. Luckily he wasn't mad at me about the escapee! I had some lobsters pop up too in my former bug room. Not sure how they got out. Probably when I was cleaning tanks. Nasty little buggers.
