I have always just used coco coir for my fossorial species and never had a problem with it, until I did. recently I had burrow collapses in 3 tanks, they were all set up about a year ago and left undisturbed and there were no changes in the environment that I can think of that may have caused it. anybody here who keeps a lot of fossorials, what do you use for substrate? ive got a lot of T's so buying some eco-earth or bio-dudes stuff really isn't cost effective, though if that is what I need to do.......

Bio-dummy is just that- there was no bio mumbo jumbo not long ago- don’t even think for a moment that is needed- it isn’t.

Too soil is cheap

I use cheap, plain soil mixed with crushed dried leaves for pretty much all my fossorials. Not only they use lots and lots of leaf bits on the entrance of their burrows, but these leaves also help the burrow’s structure. Never had any issues 🤘

I use this mix from @l4nsky I use it for all t's humid or dry, fossorial or arboreal it doesn't matter I find it works brilliantly. Been using it over a year now and I have never had a problem with burrow collapse or mould in the sub for my more humidity loving sp. I recommend it to everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️.
