I usually post on the scorpion forum, but I have interest in all animals. So you will probably see more posts from me here.
I work Security at a housing sight and I see a lot of animals at night. So, for bat lovers, enjoy. This is a Guano Bat (Tadarida brasiliensis). It would be nice for a pet but.................

I just can't understand why folks don't like these. That's incredibly C.U.T.E.!

They look like gremlins! :D

I've wanted a fruit bat for a pet for many years...but will likely never get one. These are fun to have around to watch instead, though!

Thanks for the pics!

Bats are so cute. I don't know why people think they're ugly. There's going to be bats at a festival near me next week. I'm looking forward to seeing some up close :D

Sounds like you work in an awesome place, I worked security at my old zoo for extra bucks 6.00hr lol. And I used to see all kinds of things, thankfully no leopards, They were the first thing I checked when the sun went down, didnt trust keepers charged with locks..lol

You should read the book A Bat in my Pocketby the rehabber in Mineral Wells, TX. I would also love to rehab one! Rabies is about one half of one percent, far less than the unvaccinated dogs, cats, skunks, and foxes in the neighborhood.

looks like a pallid bat :?
According to my info, the Pallid Bat (Antrozous pallidus) is a lighter color and does not have a free floating tale. I could be wrong on the ID. The only species I have had first hand accounts are the pictured bat and the California Bat (Myotis californicus), which I see every night in my backyard catching their nightly meal.
