I acquired one of my absolute favorite species of tarantula yesterday and got an incredible deal on it. It is the coveted Xenesthis immanis. After looking through every photograph I could find I feel that my 2" specimen may be of the 'blue' sp. I'm going to post some photos that are not mine and I hope this isn't a problem. I take no credit any pic except the last one, which is my T. Mine is a very deep steel blue color and matches the look of the pic example from kenthebugguy's website which, I might add, he does not advertise as a 'blue'. I believe mine may be of the same sac though. Mine also matches the look of the 'blue' species from the pic threads. I'd like to get some more of these guys for breeding purposes but obviously need to know what I have. Any help? Experts! I need you!!! Or... I could just wait until mine grows up.

Here's from the genus gallery 'Xenesthis':

I'm not an expert by any means, but just comparing the pics, yours doesn't seem to have the metallic-y look that the first pic has...could just be the camera angle tho.... the steely blue color is the same....

So, really, I have no answer for you. :D Just wanted to say that we're close - I'm in Columbia :D :D :D

Sorry to say my friend but I had had mine since it was 2" as well and they both look fairly similiar as slings but as they get older their colours start to really come in. Mine is about 4.5" looks gorgeous but from sexing the last molt I'm about 99% sure its male. :( sucks I was hoping for my first one to be female but we'll see I'm gonna try get a couple females.

You are going to have to wait for a bit. It is way to small to tell much of anything. Let it get some more size and color, slings are extremely hard to identify.
