We bought some Kaylees Aspen Bedding and litter. I was wondering would it be safe to use it for a ball python. My husband wants to make sure it can be safe to use before opening it. The bag does say its 100% Natural Aspen.

Sure

I have used that same bedding with all of my snakes for years. I have never had any problems with it. Of course I do not feed my snakes in the enclosures or on any bedding. It can be swallowed with prey items and cause problems.

I use crushed walnut shells. I dont think Aspen is very natural. Since its best to always feed in a different tank, it shouldnt really make a difference.

I've used Aspen, and I am comletely neutral towards it. It worked fine for my snake. It's safe in the sense that it does not contain the toxic phenols that pine and cedar do.
