Who keep asking "When will my Haplopelma lividum start to turn blue?"

Nice!!

I have 9 of the 45 spiderlings from my mother-Lividum, at about 20mm, I look forward to when they all reach this size and get some colour!

They actually had a very slight hint of blue at the second moult (nymphs moulting into basic spiders, then another moult) but they lost the colouration witht he latest moult :/

I recently mated the female so should be expecting another egg in the future!

Actually, I think they are too high on the legs to be considered as "stockings." I'd probably think of them as blue spandex shorts. :p

Those are some really nice pix, though "cute" doesn't work for me as far as this species. Then again, I think my Predator (A. geniculata) IS cute and she's 5 inches now. ;)

Some day I'll hae one, though I get my BLUE fix from my versi and my Cobalt redrump and even my GBB. :)

Thanks John - I've started to experiment a bit more with background scenery, makes a big difference to arboreal shots especially.

Right on! I hear you on that one! I bought Inuleki one as a gift under the retext it is NEVR brought out when I'm home. And he feeds it in the spider/cat room with the door closed. And if it ever escapes, I will be on vacation until it is returned to it's cage! :D But it is a really spiffy looking spider...

Well, since this is a Cobalt Blue Appreciation type thread, I decided to attach a picture of my Luci in here. This is the most recent one I have of her I took thirty minutes ago. She's not looking her best since she's in pre-molt. I will make sure to, once her new exoskelton has hardened up, post some pics.

It's even better when their abdomens start showing blue. Mine didn't show blue on it's abdomen until around 4-4.5".

Great pics by the way!

Hmmmmmmmm......is this just a spiderling/juvenile trait? Luci is a sub-adult and the only markings on her opisthosoma are chevron markings, well they're not there now because she's gone bald there and it's swelling. But she does have dark chevron markings on creamish white hairs.

nope....rubbermaid container....like a pickle jar..only not quite as big around. She has approx 10-12" of dirt to burrow under though!
