Cool! Is this species of ant a problem/pest? Because I can't help but notice they're emerging all over your foundation... Very neat thing to observe but I wouldn't want them finding their way into my kitchen.

Apparently in my town these ants are not everywhere like I had thought, meaning not every yard has them, in my area all the houses had them emerging, some yards had more than others (like mine for example) probably because we use no insectisides or weed killers so they thrive here.

They are a pest if you dig up the lawn and find all the non-winged orange-yellow colored workers, nests are everywhere underground. But except for the emergence, you dont even know they exist! Only for that one day were they everywhere ans some got in the house but dont live in houses luckily, today the only sign of them was dropped wings or ants caught in spider webs, none visible anymore.

Thats insane! I love all manner of creepie crawlies, but ants just really bother me. They're awesome when they're behind glass in an ant farm and what not, and they're usually ok outside, but as soon as they cross the threshold they're dead .I've delt with to many ant invasions in my house! (not to mention the worse envasion ever when they some how got in the ziplocs and swarmed my lunch for school. I went hungry that day.:wall:

This would happen in my town back in NY once in a while too. While driving your windshield would quickly get covered in a nice squished bug coating. Wasn't as bad as what is seen there, but definitely close.
