Flooding out baby scorpions?

Hey everyone,

I posted a while back about my gravid H. silenus having babies. Life happened, we all got sick, now I’m feeling like a person again and out of survival mode. However, they have had time to burrow to the bottom of the enclosure and I’d really like to get them separated.

I was thinking rather than dig them out, I could poke a straw down into the bottom of the burrow (it is against the glass) and slowly flood them out?

Thoughts?

Happens all the time in the wild, as in right now during the rainy season. They can hold their breath, doing so automatically. As in for an hour or hours? Automatic metabolism slow down, inherent in scorps.

It could work so long as it’s not multiple smaller burrows and collapses.. but worth a try .

What does the enclosure look like? Can you dump the soil and sift them out then start over?
