Flake soil for isopods - how to make it at home?

For those who make their own flake soil, what do you put into it? Have some large Sterilite bins (66 qt and 110 qt) that are laying around and getting into the hobby currently, but down the line in a year or so I’d like to be able to produce my own substrate.
