FL to CA move - info/fun

Soo I am moving to California and am driving all the way there from FL. I am making a trip out of it too. I am taking i10 all the way to Texas and might make a side trip to Amarillo, TX. My question to you all is what fun stop can I make along the way that you all know of and also we will be doing a lot of hiking and was curious to know where are really good spot to find t's and scorpions for some good pictures and so on. Info would be great. I am leaving Dec 1st.

I kinda did the same thing when driving from Maryland to California. I first stopped in Ohio to visit a friend, then drove straight down into Texas, went through Las Vegas and up into Northern CA from the south.

The most obvious suggestion is the grand canyon. You can't go wrong with that.

Hit Vegas! If you are into skiing, could always wing up this way. Rockies have the best snow on earth ya know.

Same state from me but still far. Hehe! I think there are some places with wild tarantulas somewhere in Sacramento but that might be out of your way...
