Interesting that you should bring up "Monster Quest", a show that started out with a decent premise-delving into well-known and lesser-known "cryptids" to weigh the evidence(or lack thereof) of their existence, but spiraled down-hill in their attempt to be more dramatic. By their last season, they were trying to turn every ordinary, run-of-the-mill animal into some sort of "hybrid mutant monster", even having a show that made the off-hand claim of Burmese and African Rock Pythons in the Everglades mating with King Cobras to produce a giant hybrid monster snake that was both a constrictor and was highly venomous, with no fear of humans, that would surely prey on both us and our beloved pets! Between that and the episode about packs of feral dogs living in and around St. Louis being a "monster hybrid dog" created by these ferals mating with "pit bulls" and other "vicious breeds", the show had sunk to the deepest low. It's not surprising that they cut out any interview with any real biologist that countered their claims of giant alligators or crocodiles in the NYC sewers. The only reason they allowed Loren Coleman's interview about the "Maine Mutant", a dead Chow-mix dog found on a rural road in Maine a few years ago, was because he's a well-known figure in the "field" of Cryptozoology, but I'm sure they didn't like his comment that the "mutant" was nothing more than a stray dog that got hit by a car, and was found several days later after decomp had set in.

you should read his link, its quite fascinating.
I figured this was some joke thread since most stuff like that is just that, a joke, I guess one or two found does seem possible since some poeple are stupid and think they will live in there or to make the legend come true.

Yeah, Monsterquest and Lost Tapes are like Destination Truth, they all are over dramatic acting and at the end they find nothing, like Ghost Hunters tv show all acting. Its no wonder ratings are low and people laugh even if you think you saw something. I figure, if any of these monsters exist, you'd hear about it in the newspaper and on the news first, before seeing it on one of these cryptid shows....

I find that findi has some wonderful articles that he writes; so never have any issue checking out things he posts! and yeah, it is a shame that most animal orientated shows and channels are more about.. pushing product then the animals and learning about them.

Hello,

I guessing you did not actually read the article carefully (a very bad strategy if you plan to comment, incidentally...and this applies far beyond the internet!). I discuss the fact that I did not catch any alligators - I was child following up on a story. Best, Frank

There are no alligators in any sewer that's a stupid myth.

Hello,

Very interesting that you should mention that episode - I spent a day filming with Monster Quest crew, for tat very episode! They did not use a single second of the footage! Well, at least I was paid; amazingly, they tried to sell me on doing it for free; since it was broadcast in dozens of countries, they reasoned that the exposure would be valuable. Being a cynical New Yorker, I pointed out (politely) that if they are broadcasting in dozens of countries, they can afford to pay my normal daily consulting fee!!!!
