Those fish don't look too good. They look a tad, um....dehydrated.

*Gags* Fish may LOOK pretty, (and there are some ugly ones too) but they smell nasty, and taste even worse. Therefor, I am giving up fish. I HATE FISH! (except to look at) Of course, I was refering to the "THeres more fish in the sea" analagy. ;P

You must not have had much good fish in your life :p Some fish don't have a fish taste to them at all.

Back to REAL fish. They say that if the fish smells like fish you shouldn't buy it. Fresh fish has no smell. Once it stars to get old it starts to stink. Also don't get fish at a restaraunt on a monday, they get fresh fish on tuesdays. So the stuff on monday is whatever they have left over from the last delivery, or if they plowed through that it may be the fish from 2 deliveries ago.

and yes those fish do look old and dry.

I agree on the first count, but the thing with Mondays has got to be either local or bogus. There is no way that is a universal truth.

I fairly sure it is true for most upscale resaraunts. Either way it is probably a good idea to ask your waiter when they get fish deliveries.

It doesn't make any sense, though. Where is the bottleneck at? Do all suppliers ship out on the same days? Are deliveries coordinated to compensate for different delivery distances? There seems to me to be no conceivable reason that delivery would be focused on one day.

Actualy, there is one conceivable reason and that would have to do with business patterns. Perhaps if less people eat fish on Sundays and Mondays then it would make sense? Still, that seems fairly far-fetched.

Cheers,
Dave

What was it Kirk Cobain said about fish? "It's ok to eat fish becasue fish don't have feelings"? something like that.
