First time: pooped on AND fanged...

...by a 1/2" A. metallica sp. "green" sling

I figured out my lil guy Liam will only eat pre-killed, and now that he's fattened up he has some attitude!

I took him out for pictures, and he wouldn't hold still so I kept blocking his escape... he bunched down, and I thought he was going to jump - but no, he shot poo at me! A little 1/2" sling, shot poo about 8" and right across my arm... thaaaaanks

So, I laughed about that, cleaned it up, and decided he'd had enough. I put my hand down infront of him and brushed him with a finger to make him move forward so I could put him back into his enclosure. He ran onto my palm and then settled on my fingers, and I brought him closer to my face so I could look at him one last time before putting him away...

And that's when I realized... that he was fanging me
Whether he was doing it to hold on, or because he was pissed.. I'm not sure. But either way, there they were.. two little, itty bitty fangs just barely piercing into my finger!

Needless to say, I was HIGHLY amused that my first time being bitten/fanged and pooed on was by such a tiny lil fella!

Too cute. I had an A. hentzi "fang" the tip of my finger, once. haha He was 2i and couldn't even break the skin. It was really funny.

Just goes to show, that ANY T, no matter how docile, can and WILL bite if sufficently provoked. Liam is too adorable to hold it against him, LOL. But at least you didn't get nailed by one of your Pterinos.....

My first pooping came from my versi, Jezebel, when she was 1/2"....but she waited til she was 1.5" before her fangs found me, and delivered me my first bite. Obviously, we've made up, and are good friends again, LOL!!!

I'm interested to see what his attitude is like as he grows.. if he's always going to be that touchy, or if he was just trying to act tough because he's tiny LOL

I would NEVER handle my Pterinos like I handle my Avic slings... actually, I don't handle ANY of my other Ts like that.
I've got a P. lugardi sling that is a lil smaller than Liam, and I've never taken him outta his vial lol

And once they get bigger, I probably won't hold them when I take them out for pictures.. except maybe Loh, because he's a sweetie lol

That's really cute. Haven't gotten pooped on by anything other than a jumping spider, a funnel weaver (twice) and a widow. No bites from a tarantula sling yet, but got one very lazy threat display.
