first roach

i wanted to start a tank with roaches in it and was wondering what a good roach would be

first off

1. the tank is 5gallon

3.no hissers(except maybe the dwarves)
4.pref non glass climbing

Your question is a bit too vague to answer successfully. You want a pet roach, but not feeding, but need it to breed enough to feed your true spiders? Huh!? :wall:

Some commonly kepted 'pet roaches':
1. Rhino roaches {Macropanesthia rhinoceros}
2. Peppered roaches {Archimandrita tesselata}
3. Giant cave roaches {Blaberus gigantues}
4. Hissers

i dont really know
maybe discoids or a therea spp.?
another could be b fumigata

colours size ect...

The giant cave roaches are really cool but skittish. I liked having them though. They nymphs look sort of prehistoric to me.

my colony is in a 33!

I wish rhino roaches were more available here. They look pretty cool. I have a friend who has a pair and he says they're pretty easy to care for.

I have 8 of the giant cave roaches, they are really amazing when they are adults, and they eat alot too. You'll see alot of jaws drop when you show other people the giant cave roaches.
